Reported and produced videos on politics, breaking news, culture and community issues in Washington Heights, Inwood, and Queens for New York City local news site. Broke stories on a toxic site proposed as replacement parkland in a Queens Major League Soccer stadium deal, a bankrupt airline that stranded passengers overseas and intimidation tactics used by an Inwood landlord.

Multimedia Reporter: September 2011-December 2011

Reported on housing, economics and crime in Highbridge for Columbia Journalism’s Bronx community news website. Researched and reported on the five-year effects of the New Yankee Stadium on the Bronx, investigated poor living conditions in low income apartments and produced interactive maps about murders in the borough.

Managing Editor: 2010-2011

Directed a team of writers located in Europe, the middle east and the United States and reported daily on HTC. Wrote device reviews, produced feature videos and traveled to report on trade shows, including the Consumer Electronics Show.

Queens Ledger/Brooklyn Star Newspaper Group

Sports Editor and Production Director: 2008-2010

As sports editor: Wrote 8-10 stories weekly about the sports scene in Queens and Brooklyn. Reported on high school, college and professional basketball, live-blogged the US Tennis Open and the Big East Tournament and produced audio slide shows for the New York City marathon. As production director: Designed the newspaper weekly, produced advertisements and promotional materials, completely redesigned one of the paper’s web sites and worked with other reporters to produce videos.
