Broke stories on a toxic site proposed as replacement parkland in a Queens Major League Soccer stadium deal, a bankrupt airline that stranded passengers overseas and intimidation tactics used by an Inwood landlord.

Reported on housing, economics and crime in Highbridge for Columbia Journalism’s Bronx community news website. Researched and reported on the five-year effects of the New Yankee Stadium on the Bronx, investigated poor living conditions in low income apartments and produced interactive maps about murders in the borough.
Founder and Editor-in-Chief: January 2010 – Present
Founded a New York City website that provides aggregated news, events listings, deals and discounts. As a completely independent effort, the site is profitable and has a small advertiser base.
Managing Editor: November 2010-June 2011
Directed a team of writers located in Europe, the middle east and the United States and reported daily on HTC. Wrote device reviews, produced feature videos and traveled to report on trade shows, including the Consumer Electronics Show.
Sports Editor and Production Director: July 2008 – November 2010
As sports editor: Wrote 8-10 stories weekly about the sports scene in Queens and Brooklyn. Reported on high school, college and professional basketball, live-blogged the US Tennis Open and the Big East Tournament and produced audio slide shows for the New York City marathon. As production director: Designed the newspaper weekly, produced advertisements and promotional materials, completely redesigned one of the paper’s web sites and worked with other reporters to produce videos.

Reported on general news stories including court cases and bike lanes. Reported on the New Orleans Zephyrs minor league baseball team for the sports desk. Researched and produced a story on Houma, a small town that produces NFL football players.
Editor-in-Chief, Sports Editor, Career Editor, Staff Writer: December 2006- May 2008
As editor-in-chief: the NYIT Chronicle sold its first ads and launched its first web site, bringing in the first independent dollars in the paper’s history. As a sports editor: reported on NYIT’s long-discontinued division II football team and discovered game scores that NYIT had never kept track of.
